While watching DVDs, I often do a ton of screencaps to be sure I have an image to use later on if I wish to review the film on this site. Sometimes, I decide not to review the movie, and all the screencaps go to waste. Even when a movie gets reviewed, 99 percent of the screencaps get deleted. But I save my favorites and share some of them with you you now. Some capture an interesting moment, some capture the essence of an actor or actress, some are just visually interesting. - JB
![]() Great '40s and '50s character actor Thomas Gomez in his last role, an ape preacher in Beneath the Planet of the Apes. (Stock photo of Gomez in his prime added to screencap for reference.)
Humphrey Bogart, being cautious, in The Big Sleep.
I love the look in her eyes! Lauren Bacall, The Big Sleep.
Bogey again, in Casablanca.
Ingrid Bergman. As a kid, I used to get Ingrid Bergman and Ingmar Bergman confused. Not so much any more. Casablanca.
A bit of the opening shot of Dead End. All models and matte paintings, yet it captures New York perfectly. You see stuff like this a lot in old Warner Brothers films.
Bogey again. Dead End. I've come to the conclusion that Humphrey Bogart's face makes for the best screencaps ever.
An iconic shot of the villain entering James Bond's room. Dr. No.
Could be my favorite screencap ever. To me, it captures everything about John Wayne in one shot. Even the horse seems proud to have John Wayne riding him. Fort Apache.
Cool sci-fi furniture, a clear blue sky and Scarlett Johansson outlined in the window. Yeah, I could live in a future like this. The Island (unreviewed) |
