GOLDENEYEThe first, and in many ways still the strongest film to feature Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. Though Brosnan lacked some of Sean Connery's macho gravitas, he captured well Bond's elegance and humor. The film updated the Bond legend for the 1990s, placing him in a more politically correct environment, even if the character remained a "misogynist dinosaur," in the words of the new female "M," Judi Dench.
But despite any revisions to
the series, the
film had a storyline that hearkened back to the early films in the
series, and it was the most low-tech of the Brosnan films.
Brosnan's three subsequent Bond films grew ever-more outlandish and
dependent upon a barrage of special effects. For that reason,
GOLDENEYE remains a fan favorite. Plus, the film has Famke
Janssen, one of the greatest and sexiest Bond villainess of all
time.

HOW TO TALK LIKE A BOND VILLAIN
"Oh, please, James, put it away. It's insulting to think I
haven't anticipated your every move."
